ABOUT LAURA LEE SAMFORD

Every project is a one of a kind, a one-off because every client and house is unique to its own context. By my very nature, I thrive in a collaborative environment. My projects have blossomed out of a partnership with the client, architect, contractor, artisans, and installers. Interior design requires in depth knowledge of products and architecture orchestrated in a practical, but creative manner with incredible attention to detail.

I draw my inspirations from architecture and art with a voracious curiosity of architectural history. I’ve been influenced by my mother a veteran artist and educator of art and photography who has instilled in me an eye for spatial composition.

Currently, I practice interior design in a highly customized boutique manner where I’m part of a team that requires constant communication and coordination of logistics, to orchestrate and deliver a vision to its completion.

I have 10 years of commercial design experience and 26 years of residential projects accumulating required knowledge of construction, building codes, fire codes and handicap requirement codes.

I provide expertise and experience in space planning, custom furniture design, interior architecture and detailing, lighting and furnishings specifications, procurement, and final installations.
